      To mark the 28th national Teacher’s Day, organized by China International Cultural Communication Center (CICCC) along with China Charity Project Committee, a delegation of calligraphers, painters as well as philanthropic entrepreneurs paid saluting visit to the National University of Defense Technology (NUDT).

      Party Secretary and Executive Chairman of CICCC, concurrently the Chairman of China Charity Project Committee Mr. Long Yuxiang presented NUDT with calligraphy works and paintings, he also expressed greetings and praise to the teachers and staff of UNDT, saying that teachers and staff of UNDT have been working diligently, loyally and excellently to serve the university as well as the nation. UNDT’s motto advocates virtue and learning, aiming to invigorate the country through strengthening the military, the teachers and staff have proved to be the embodiment of that motto. They educate and influence the students with their personality charm and knowledge. Large numbers of superior talents have graduated from NUDT serving in the field of nation defense or economic arena. For the last five decades, NUDT has provided the nation and military with more than 140 thousand talents among which some 40 have been selected academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Chinese Academy of Engineering; more than 300 public servants graduated from NUDT have reached provincial, ministerial and corporal level in their respective units. A great number of qualified personnel have become commander-in-chief or general designer of some core national defense projects such as manned spaceflight and heavy weaponry development. NUDT boast many achievements in scientific research, “Tianhe” No.1 super computer system is one of them, wining the university nearly 2000 awards given by national, military and ministerial authorities. The university has supported the nation with intelligence resources and technology, creating countless miracles and attracting attention at home and internationally. Long added that CICCC attaches great importance to the national defense building right since its foundation. CICCC endorses the dual support policy, strives for the communication between armies and soldiers of PLA and those of the armed forces. The organization has played a positive and active role in enriching the life of soldiers and enhancing the relationship between the army and Chinese people.

      Political commissar of NUDT Wang Jianwei expressed thanks to the delegation, he gave medals of gratitude to CICCC and China Charity Project Committee. Calligraphers, painters and philanthropic entrepreneurs also received credentials of honor from NUDT. Wang Jianwei said that what the university has done is to implement President Hu’s instructions on enhancing the integration and unity of the people and the military. In the matching towards an internationally first class university, the university takes on the responsibility of playing an active part in building a harmonious society, in promoting dual support, in helping local economic development as well as in cultivating large numbers of talents for society. He said that in the future the university would further enhance cooperation and communication with CICCC in fields like technological creation, production research, and talent cultivation and so on. The two sides will achieve greater development and achievements, opening a new chapter for both.

      Associate Political commissar of NUDT Li Ning expressed thanks on behalf of the Party committee, leaders of the University, offers and men. He fully affirmed CICCC’s achievements in terms of international cultural communication, domestically advanced cultural development, charity projects and culturally support to the army.

      NUDT is a comprehensive university running under the leadership of Central Military Commission; one of the key higher educational institutes of 985 and 211 projects respectively. The mission bestowed by the Central Military Commission is to foster highly qualified scientific and engineering talents and officers, training high rank leaders for military, undertaking advanced weaponry research and other key technology for national defense. Students, teachers and administrative staff in the university together reach the number of 20 thousand, making it the biggest military academy in this nation of all time. The delegation watched the trail of NUDT with well sustained interest, viewing newly invented high-tech products, precision instrument, educational facilities as well as University History Hall.

     Artists including Yang Jichuan, Zhang Xueming, Chang Wuliang, Wang Jing, Wang Yi, Chen Yuefeng, Zhang Chaoliang, Chen Shengguang, Zhang Guohua, Xi Xinhui, Jiang Yihe made their on-site creation praising the greatness of the military and the close relationship between the army and the people, and presented them to the university.
