CICCC holds annual meeting to explore cultural innovation spreading mode and to speed up the cause o

      China International Cultural Communication Center (CICCC) held its annual meeting in Beijing on March 20, 2013. Vice chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress, concurrently chairman of the CICCC Isam’il Tiliwaldi attended and addressed the meeting. Isam’il pointed out that all staff of the CICCC should implement in depth the guiding principles of the CPC’s Eighteenth National Congress, conscientiously learn from the two congresses, steadfastly focus on the cause of culturally advancing the nation with Chinese characteristics, improve the nation’s international competiveness, the nation’s image as an international power.

      The meeting held that the 2013 would mark the start of a new era. It is an era of development and prosperity. The CPC’s 18th National Congress drew up the overall plan to implement economic, political, cultural, social and ecological progress, ensuring coordinated progress in all areas of the socialist cause with Chinese characteristics. In the course of developing a strong socialist culture in China and speeding up the Chinese culture advancing towards the world, they are important measures to take to increase China’s cultural soft power as well as to enhance the overall strength and international competitiveness of Chinese culture. Over past years, CICCC has successfully served as one of the major window of communication with the outside world. The year 2012 saw a series of innovative successes carried out by CICCC, ranging from organizing international and domestic arts exhibitions, theatrical performances, philanthropic activities, and supporting the army and soldier’s families. Meanwhile, the organization also aided certain administrative departments of the state to carry out their services in external affairs and overseas Chinese security, making a positive contribution to the spreading and prosperity of Chinese culture as well as promotion of national economy.

       Isma’il Tiliwaldi delivered an important speech titled “Fortifying our conviction and overcoming difficulties to speed up Chinese culture advancing towards the world.” Isma’il emphasized that “conservative ways of thinking muse be modified, that we should make it a national strategic step to strengthen international cultural communication. Through comprehensive cultural exchanges and communication, CICCC should present the world with Chinese traditional culture, values and beliefs, alternative developing mode, national spirit as well, thus contributing to the strengthening of Chinese cultural soft power and national power. We should live to the challenges; dare to carry out our tasks in creative ways, continuously free up our minds, modifying our ideas. In so doing, we hope to provide strong motive force to push forward socialist cultural development and prosperity, and to promote Chinese culture advancing towards the world as well as strengthening national culture soft power through comprehensive, all-level, all-field international cultural exchanges. We should be realistic and pragmatic, elaborately organize and forge cultural programs and projects to promote international cultural communication. In order to push forward Chinese cultural advancing towards the world, we must make actual and concrete effort to promote abstract ideas, working hard to build up soft power. The center must steadfastly implement this year’s tasks and assignments, with priority on key matters and difficult affairs. We should highlight our characteristics, and forge our strong points. We should carefully organize and create cultural projects at international level, creating a new situation for Chinese international cultural communication. We will strive to realize the great dream of national renewal and Two Hundred Years Project. ”

        First vice chairman of CICCC Tang Tianbiao addressed the meeting; he put forwards some concrete requirements such as how to improve the study, how to focus on innovative constructing as well as how to promote the task of international cultural communication. Tang said that “We must keep pace with the general trend of the whole world. We ought to scientifically and strategically plan communication with outside world around the overall plan drew up by the Party and the state, around the total planning of the nation’s foreign affairs, around major international issues. All sections of the center should precisely define the key points of their assignments, related areas and programs. At the same time, the center should live up to the requirement raised by comrade Xi Jinping, enhance political training, improve political quality, conscientiously study and make profound understanding of the guiding principle of the 18th CPC National Congress, and other two congresses held recently to build up our confidence in the path we take, in the theory we follow and in the system we construct. Only then can we maintain a sober mind and correct political direction, can we understand and handle properly up-to-date situations and newly emerged problems amid complicate international situations. The center should improve its management, move towards the correct direction, exploit its unique resources, step firmly on the way of innovation, create new quality projects and continue to lift the total lever of international cultural communication.”

       Executive chairman of CICCC Long Yuxiang delivered the report on working and brief the new plan for 2013. He set new strict demands on the center, “the center should further enhance its international influence and competitiveness, meticulously build brand project with both cultural quality and social appeal, kindle the enthusiasm of its lower-level committees, liaison offices and staff, make all necessary efforts to fulfill its tasks. We should continue to explore the cultural innovation spreading mode, complete our mission in creative way, and guarantee both quality and quantity of every cultural activity internationally and at home. We must strive to introduce the essence of our national culture to the world. We will artistically build up an open and confident image of the Chinese nation. ” Representatives from liaison offices including East China, Northeastern, Northwestern, North China, Shenzhen, Xiamen, Hong Kong, Macau attended and addressed the meeting.

       First vice chairman of CICCC Tang Tianbiao announced new appointment and rearrangement of personnel. Sha Zukang was appointed vice chairman of the Center, Zhu Zhengping Art Director, Li Pei and Zhou Zhihui vice chairman of the Painting & Calligraphy Art Committee, Zuo Jinling Director of General Office, Peng Shengling Executive Director of Overseas Security Department.

      Vice chairmans of CICCC such as Lei Mingqiu, Zhao Keming, Zhang Li, Sun Dafa, Yu Linxiang and many other leaders of the Center including Fu Tinggui, Wang Tailan, Zhang Zongyin, Sheng Hetai, Ji Shaoying, Yan Feng, Yang Xinhong, Leng Degui, Xiao Ping, Li Guande, Cui Hongjin, Teng Fang, Ding Guanjia, Yang Jichuan, Zhang Yichun, Wang Hongliang, Chang Wuliang, Amirah, Xie Moqian and other representatives from lower-level committees, liaison offices attended the function
